Spring check valve is a one-way valve with a spring-loaded stem located in-line with and at the center of the valve. While water flows in the “open direction”, the pressure pushes the stem and the valve remains open. When flow ceases, the spring pushes the stem to its’ normally “closed” position, preventing gravity flow and backflow caused by backpressure.
